Welcome to the official website of the EconScholar Olympiad. By accessing or using this website (the "Site") and participating in our competitions, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any of these Terms, you should not use this Site or participate in our Olympiad competitions.

The EconScholar Olympiad is an educational initiative aimed at sparking interest in Economics through quarterly report-based competitions focusing on solutions to macroeconomic and microeconomic issues. These Terms apply to all users of the Site, including but not limited to participants, registered members, and other visitors.

1. General Information

The EconScholar Olympiad operates in multiple regions, and is open to individuals worldwide, though certain restrictions may apply based on regional laws.

Key Information:

  • Registration Fee: A registration fee of $20 (or $10 for registrations before March 1st) is required to participate in each quarterly competition.

  • Competitions: competitions consist of submitting reports that offer solutions to current macroeconomic and microeconomic challenges.

  • Eligibility: Participants must be a school student within the academic year of the contest they are participating in.

2. Use of the Site

By using this Site, you agree to:

  • Provide Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering or submitting materials. You are responsible for updating this information if necessary.

  • Compliance with Laws: You agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including the laws of the country in which you reside and the laws that apply to the regions in which the competition operates.

3. Registration and Fees

To participate in the EconScholar Olympiad competitions, you must register through the Site and pay a $20 registration fee - or $10 for registrations before March 1st. By registering, you agree to pay the required fee and comply with the competition rules and guidelines.

  • Payment Processing: Payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors. By providing payment information, you agree to the terms of the payment processor.

  • Refunds: Registration fees are non-refundable except in cases where the competition is canceled by the Organization or in the case of technical issues preventing participation.

4. Participant Obligations

Participants in the EconScholar Olympiad competitions must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Submission Requirements: All entries must comply with the competition guidelines provided on the Site, including word limits, format, and submission deadlines.

  • Originality: All reports and solutions submitted for the competition must be the original work of the participant. Plagiarism or the use of uncredited third-party work will result in disqualification.

  • Confidentiality: Participants agree to keep any competition-related information confidential until the official release of competition results. This includes, but is not limited to, competition prompts, solutions, and judging criteria.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership of Submissions: By submitting a report or other content to the EconScholar Olympiad, you grant the Organization a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and share your submission for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes related to the competition. You retain ownership of your original work, but you grant us permission to use your submission as described above.

  • Use of the Site Content: All content, materials, and intellectual property on this Site, including but not limited to text, images, logos, trademarks, and reports, are the property of the EconScholar Olympiad and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use any content from the Site without prior written consent from the Organization.

6. Privacy and Data Collection
